Family

Family. Ah, the meanings ... and the memories. Everyone's view of a family is slightly different. Some see sadness, a family they don't remember. Some see hard times, anger, a family who was always fighting. Some see happiness, laughter, and joy. Some see big families, others see small ones. But, it doesn't matter if you're family is big or small; poor or rich; happy, sad, or angry; the definition stays the same, and this is it:
1. a. A fundamental social group in society typically consisting of one or two parents and their children.
b.
Two or more people who share goals and values, have long-term commitments to one another, and reside usually in the same dwelling place.
2. All the members of a household under one roof.
3.
A group of persons sharing common ancestry.
4.
Lineage, especially distinguished lineage.
When I think family I think of this:
Of the silly things we have done together like putting this together.

And of this. It may not look like my family to you, it may look too big, or maybe you think the people in it are from too many different places (there are people from different countries - all on different continents at that - in this picture). But they are my family. I feel like they are my family, and when I'm gone for a long time I miss them like my family (most of the time).

  1. It looks like your family to me. I love that you love them. Is that you peeking over your dad's shoulder? When was this taken? Great picture.

  2. Grandma, I am actually right in front of my dad but it kind of looks like I am behind him, peeking over his shoulder. This was taken a few weeks ago by a visitor who came.
